Midlands Fundraiser Delivers Vital Aid To Syrian Border

Tahira Taj, a physiotherapist from Birmingham, has raised over £6000 in just three weeks for her trip to the Syrian border.

She went to Jordan in 2013 with a group of people through Coventry University and met refugees from Palestine and Syria. She describes it as “the most eye-opening and life changing experience” she has ever had and she promised herself to do more to help.

Tahira travelled to Turkey on October 25th to personally deliver aid with SKT Welfare after appealing for donations on Facebook:

“I do not get anything out of this, I do not wish for anything other than trying to meet the very basics needs for these refugees and maybe seeing a smile or two on some of the children’s faces. So please, please donate whatever you can and also share this with others so they may donate too.”

Tahira Taj is interviewed by Aisha Ditta for Coventry Online.
